Welcome, to my Adirondack Furniture website. My chairs weigh 55#'s and won't blow away in the wind!
I build my chairs using pressure treated #1 Southern pine. Many people use this same material to build their decks because it won't rot. The body of the chair is built with one inch thick wood and for the arms I use one and one-half inch thick lumber. All parts are sanded smooth.
The joints of my Adirondack Chair are glued up with Titebond III waterproof glue. The screws are a Phillips II Plus exterior screw which carry a lifetime warrenty against rust. The leg connections are made with hot-dipped galvanized bolts and the seat slats are connected with hot-dipped galvanized nails.
Finally, I weather seal my ADIRONDACK FURNITURE with two coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane by Minwax. * These Wood Chairs make beautiful Lawn Furniture on you patio or porch or for around your swimming pool or pond. They will enhance any yard or patio or porch and will be the first chair taken in a crowd!
I am presently building two chair out of cypress wood. They will cost a little more and won't weigh as much, but the wood is beautiful! You can see a picture of one on page two.
Travel through my site to see more pictures of my Adirondack Furniture which includes Chairs, and Loveseats and also the Birdhouses, Mailboxes and Benches I build.
*This sealer must be cleaned and reapplied if the chairs are outside in the weather. If they are under a covered patio the sealer will last longer.
